Housing and lens are NOT included. The kit only includes the LED light boards.
This is the insert for the Lucas ST38 "Pork Pie Lamp" as used on the MG PA, NA, PB, NB, and numerous other British vehicles.
NOW AVAILABLE FOR EITHER 6 OR 12 VOLT VEHICLES
It provides functions for tail, brake, turn signal, and license plate lights.
There are two different configurations available:
2 SEGMENT
This is the variation where no relay is required as the insert is comprised of two separate circuits ( a - tail/brake and b - turn signal) plus license plate light. Since this variation is simpler to use, it requires that the brake and turn signal are less bright as each function uses less than the full complement of LEDs. This is the ONLY configuration where the turn signal can be AMBER.
1 SEGMENT
This variation requires the use of an external relay such as the Lucas DB10, to control the brake light segment. When the turn signal is activated, the brake function on that side is deactivated and used for the turn signal instead. Although the wiring in the car is more complicated, it does result in a brighter brake light as the entire number of LEDs are used for the brake and turn signal. Thus, the turn signal color MUST be RED. The relay is not included and must be acquired separately.
The price is for a pair of lamp inserts sufficient for one vehicle.
This includes the insert only and does not include the housing, lens, or external relay.

Pork pie conversion

I have just fitted a pair of Brittrix LED conversion boards to my 1934 MG PA Airline. The increased brightness of the rear lights is tremendous, even in daylight. With LED headlight bulbs in the front, the current draw is barely moves the ammeter, meaning that I can use the lights all of the time to improve my visibility to other drivers without depleting the battery. These light boards are well designed and manufactured, light years ahead of the 'universal' ones from the only UK supplier that I know of, and much easier to fit. The LEDs are close behind the lenses, whereas the UK alternatives fit further back in the shells and need a dividing panel to separate the turn signal part from the rest. This is a snap-off section with score lines. On both occasions that I have used them, it broke in the wrong place, necessitating a repair with superglue. Although expensive compared to the others that I have used, I think that the Brittrix boards are excellent value and I would recommend them.
